The inspiration for this painting was the old Fiesta teapot and red tulips from my garden. I painted this entirely from the live set-up..working on the tulips first before the petals fell. A rich colored fabric tablecloth ties all the many elements of the painting together. The book is one I have had since college..it was fun copying the Renoir painting "Girl With Watering Can".
