See Shells

12" x 9"

Every motorist and car lover knows this logo. But do you know its origins?

Shell began in 1891 as a trading company that brought old oriental sea shells to the West. When it turned to oil and gas, Shell adopted its scalloped logo in 1904. The design has evolved over the decades. Shells you see on these cans date from the 1940s through the 1960s.

All of my works are professionally matted and framed, with non-glare conservation glass. Please note that the dimension above are for the image only; the framed work is larger. You can contact me for a description and photo of the painting fully framed.
