Never Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth, is the fourth in my Life Series,which is what I call my mash-ups of abstracts that had such a story in them, that I have taken them literal in places to show you what I see every day. With this amazing painting...This IS literally the abstract! Normally I apply 7-10 layers, and as I work I will see images begin to emerge. In this painting, I was on about the fifth layer, went to sit in my chair across the room to look at the painting, and was stunned to see first the cowgirl, and then the entire scene. At that point, I literally ran back and forth across the room with acrylic markers, outlining where the images were occuring. One black marker, One white, and a touch of Prussian blue to help you see what was so obviously gifted to me! The Life Lesson on this one was obvious: Never Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth.
