Hay Hook

by Helen L. Rietz

12" x 9"

After moving bales, a rancher casually slaps his hook into the hay and leaves for the day. He didn't mean to create a thing of beauty.

But to me, the soft, nuanced shades of the dry hay make a perfect backdrop for the strong, shiny red handle of the hay hook. It's a telltale reminder of daily life for the hard working men and women still making their living on the land.

All of my works are professionally matted and framed, with non-glare conservation glass. Please note that the dimension above are for the image only; the framed work is larger. You can contact me for a description and photo of the painting fully framed.
