In Glacier National Park my favorite flower is called Bear Grass. It blooms once every seven years. Some years it is scarce and other years it is plentiful. Standing around 4' tall it opens into a cone of a "million" little star like blossoms. On hikes we often pass it in the morning and later in the afternoon when we return, the flower has gone from tightly closed to fully open, millions of little stars on a cone like an intricate sparkler.
