Birds sing welcoming each new day, filled with opportunity and possibility. Carefree their tune carries across the desert floor, the trees sway and the cactus bloom. Out from the darkness they come forth shining like beacons in the night, awaiting the break of dawn. Here comes the sun! Her bright white petals with golden centers add to the symphony of color and texture, the sights and sounds of morning come. Often these blooms fade as the sun reaches them. Yet there are days like this one when they share their gift well into the day, specially under the shade of their massive host Mesquite tree. I came across these stunning Argentine Giant blooms with my beautiful mother. What a gift, a treasure! The fragrance of these blooms filled the air and added to our experience. What a joy spending time with my Mom as she doesn’t live close anymore, I treasure these times together even more. As an artist herself she appreciates the beauty surrounding her just as much as I. Now I strive to capture the beauty of this moment in time and share it with you!
