After leaving Manchester Vermont, we meandered along the scenic drive over the Green Mountains and into Bradford, New Hampshire, near Lake Sunapee. Approaching the Rosemont Country Inn bed and breakfast I instantly knew Richard had found another winner! The grounds were spectacular with a beautiful pond, creek, gazebo, bridges and lush foliage all around. The afternoon was overcast and misty but that didn’t detract from its beauty, actually it added a mystical quality. I sure hoped I would have sunshine in the morning to capture this. Our innkeeper was so warm and friendly sharing what we can do and see, even booking us a dinner cruise. The next morning when I awoke I quickly went to the window and looked, thick fog covered everything. But we were only here for one night I silently cried to myself, trying not to be disappointed. Downstairs we headed for breakfast which turned out to be an amazing frittata and a cold strawberry soup (which tasted very close to a milkshake). While I was enjoying every last delicious bite the sun broke through and everything became fiery vibrant! I am sure the look on my face spoke volumes, “go” Richard said with a twinkle in his eye. He knows me so well, such an excited child inside with the God given beauty all around me. Of course I had my camera close by, “just in case”. Wow how the grounds transformed, such rich autumn colors and harmonious shades of green. I tromped through the wet grasses with the dew soaking my shoes but I couldn’t care less! The pond drew me to it’s perfectly still waters and stunning reflections. In this moment it’s hard for me to imagine a more peaceful and serene place filled with such richness. After spending time reflecting myself, I explored the grounds completely, such a magic moment. And wouldn’t you know, shortly after we left, the sky clouded over once again for the rest of the day. A gift? Absolutely!
