Patricia Schwimmer grew up in a suburb of Toronto, where her family would often pack up the car on weekends and head to the beach. She has always had a fascination with art, but it wasn't until the early 90's, after a long detour in the business world, that she began to paint and study in earnest. Her interest in painting was rekindled when she began an intensive course of study at The Painting Experience Studio in San Francisco, where she traveled to paint for a period of three years. In 2000, she attained her Master of Arts through The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, with an emphasis on creative expression.
Patricia has led workshops in creative painting at various venues around Buffalo and in Canada's cottage country; including the Georgian Bay School of the Arts and Chautauqua Institution. She has shown her work in cafes and galleries throughout Western New York, including the famed Burchfield Penney Art Center. Her paintings have appeared in numerous publications in faraway places like Australia, England, France, Greece, Korea, Argentina, Portugal and S. Africa and can also be found in the book entitled Life, Paint and Passion. Her work is featured on a number of retail poster websites, and she is a studio artist with Xanadu Art Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ.

A recent move to Juno Beach, FL fulfills a lifelong desire to live full time at the beach. The natural beauty of the ocean and its surroundings has had a major impact on Patricia's both her color palette and form of expression. Patricia has recently progressed into the realm of abstraction, and she derives endless pleasure out of creating beautiful shapes and color play in her brushstrokes.
